Dorothy Docknevych fell asleep in the Lord

We are sad to announce that Dorothy Docknevych fell asleep in the Lord on May 22, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Friday morning from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. and may attend the Divine Liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, 569 George Street New Haven, Friday morning at 11:30 a.m.

Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

This week vigil light is offered by Vasyl for God’s blessing and health for Nadia and Vasyl.

On May 17, we will celebrate only one Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m.. in English and Ukrainian languages and after the Divine Liturgy the Knights of Columbus members and men from our Parish invites all women in the church hall for luncheon and celebration Mother’s Day.

We will celebrate only one Divine Liturgy at 10:30 on May 17 (Mother’s Day luncheon) May 24 (First Holy Communion) and June 7 (Sestretsi fundraiser ).

The Panakhyda Service at the gravesites will take place on Saturday, May 23rd at 12:00pm at All Saints Cemetery and Sunday, May 24, at 1:00 pm at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Please call the rectory office for an appointment.

STAMFORD CHARITIES APPEAL: Please don’t forget to donate for Charities Appeal. The forms are designed for each family of our parish. Attached to the form is an envelope into which you can place your contribution. The form along with your contribution, we ask you enclose in the envelope and place it in the collection basket during church services. Sestretsi is doing a fund raiser for the church to help with repairs on June 7 after the 10:30 Divine Liturgy. We are having Italian meal. Salad, meatballs and ziti, bread, butter, bottle of red wine and bottle of white wine on the table, dessert coffee, tea, soda , water. Adult tickets $25.00, children between 5years to 10 years $10.00, under 5 free. Come and join us to support the church. Tickets will be on sale from May 3, 2026.

For sale: pyrohy:(varenyky) $ 20:00 two dozen and cabbage and sausage $10/container.

This week vigil light is offered by the Andrey Sheptysky KofC Council for God’s blessing, continuing recuperation, a full recovery and a long, healthy and happy life Michael Lipcan.

After Divine Liturgy, on March 29, there will be an EASTER BAZAAR held in our church hall. You will find: delicious homemade food, candles, decorations, embroidered shirts (vyshyvanka) and many other wonderful items. If you would like to become a vendor, please call: (203) 400-4667. Branch 414-New Haven will sponsor their 21st Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 29 at 12:00 noon, on the grounds of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, New Haven. Event is free to children up to age 13. Be sure to bring basket for collecting eggs. For information contact UNA Financial Secretary Gloria Horbaty.

The traditional Easter parish “SVIACHENE” will be held on April 19, following the Divine Liturgy. We will celebrate only one (1) Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. We will be running a raffle. If you would like to donate any items to be raffled, please bring them to our church hall on Sundays before our “Sviachene” or on Sunday, April 19, Tickets are $35.00 for adults, $20.00 for youth from 12 to 18. Free for children Ridna Shkola and under 12. Also we ask you to donate cakes for desert. We trust that all parishioners will join this parish gathering and through their presence attest to cherishing in our hearts a love for one another which builds our PARISH FAMILY. We will not sell tickets at the door.

PARISH HALL HEATING SYSTEM REPAIR: This included installation of new master valves, mercury thermostat replacement and automatic air bleeder valves. The total service, parts and labor cost us over $7,000.00. To help pay for this, I am asking for a special donation for this Capital Expense. A donation envelop is included with this bulletin. Please place the donation envelope into the collection basket or mail to the Rectory. Thank you for your support.

Today, the members of the parish Knights of Columbus council and friends, prepared a delicious breakfast for the parishioners. We all did a spectacular job –having fun feeding friends.

The Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky Knights of Columbus Council at our parish invites everyone to a PANCAKE BREAKFAST on Sunday, February 15th at 11:30 AM in our church hall , after the 10:30 Mass. Admission of $10 will be collected at the door. All proceeds will be used by the Council for program needs (Mother’s Day, Oktoberfest, etc). We thank everyone for their generosity and support.

New Knights of Columbus Officers elected: On December 9, 2025, the members of Knights of Columbus council Metropolitan Andrey Sheptysky, located here at parish elected new officers. Myron Melnyk (Grand Knight), Todd A. Lane (Deputy Grant Knight), Jeffrey D. Majoris, (Financial Secretary) and Brandon Czabala (Treasurer).Father Iura Godenciuc continues to serve as council chaplain. Luba Dubno’s sister Irene Hladkyj, 97 died peacefully on December 19, 2025, in Cheshire. Irene’s funeral liturgy will be on January 8th. Pray for Irene and the family who mourn her. May Irene’s memory be eternal!

Free for children Ridna Shkola and altar boys. Luba Dubno, Margaret Maybury and Olga Iastrubchak are selling tickets. We will be running a raffle. No tickets will be sale at the door.

The Immaculate Conception Society gave a gift of a new white vestment and sticharion for the priest. The altar servers also received new sticharia in white, gold red and blue. The servers also received new black cassock. These garments were made in Ukraine. All of these garments are gifts from sacrifices of the Immaculate Conception Society. We are very grateful to our sisters. The parish received a donation of a new larger chalice and paten from Christopher and Liubov Komondy. We are very grateful.
