TODAY, Sunday, March 19, Fr. Jonathan Kalisch, O.P. will have a Mission in our Parish. He is going to be in confessional during the Divine Liturgy at 9:00 a.m. at 10:30 a.m.

Sestretsi will have a Corporate Communion and a meeting on March 26, after the 9:00 a.m. Divine Liturgy.

Sestretsi will host at the church hall a free egg and bacon breakfast to St. Michael’s parish community on March 26, after 9:00 a.m. Divine Liturgy. Donations for this event are very much appreciated.

We will be making pyrohy (varenyky) on April 1, We need your help on Friday, March 31 to peel potatoes and Saturday, April 1, to make Pyrohy. Please come and help.

The Panakhyda Service at the Gravesites will take place on Saturday, April 15, at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Cemetery and Sunday, April 16, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Please call the rectory office for appointment.

PYSANKA —Ukrainian Easter Egg Workshop will be held on Sunday, March 26, in the church hall from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. It is open to youth and adults, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your children and grandchildren to learn their beautiful heritage. Free to parish youth and Ridna Shkola students. Charge for class is $10 to others. The traditional Easter parish “SVIACHENE” will be held on April 23, following the Divine Liturgy. We will celebrate only one (1) Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. We will be running a raffle. If you would like to donate any items to be raffled, please bring them to our church hall on Sundays before our “Sviachene” or on Sunday, April 23. Tickets are $30.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth from 12 to 18. Free for altar boys, and under 12. Also we ask you to donate cakes for desert. We trust that all parishioners will join this parish gathering and through their presence attest to cherishing in our hearts a love for one another which builds our PARISH FAMILY. We will not sell tickets at the door.

Tantsi/Ukrainian Folk Dancing for older kids,6 and up, started on Friday, February 10, with Stephanie Tomaszewsky, instructor and in partnership with Artistic Director Orlando Pagan and will be every Friday from 6:00 p.m. Any questions will be answered that night. Please contact Halia Lodynsky by text if you have any questions at 203-494-6278.

Children aged 8-12 will be accepted to the School. The nursery school has 3 groups as follows: ages 2-3 years of age – the youngest group; ages 3-5 years of age –the middle group; ages 5-6 years of age –preschool/ oldest group. This year we plan to offer Ukrainian dance instruction under the director of Mr. Orlando Pagan for children 7 years and older. Details to follow. Deacon Daniel Galadza appointed as consultor at the Holy See

Congratulations to Deacon Daniel Galadza!

Today, the Holy See made the following announcement regarding the Eastern Churches office:

The Holy Father has appointed the following as consultors of the Special Commission for the Liturgy of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches: the Reverends András Dobos, rector of the Greek-Catholic Seminary of Nyíregyháza, Hungary; Vartan Kirakos Kazanjian, parish priest of Saint John Chrysostom of the Armenian Catholics in Istanbul, Turkey; Jacob Thekeparampil, director of the Saint Ephrem Ecumenic Research Institute, India; Daniel Galadza, professor of Byzantine liturgy at the Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome, Italy.

Daniel’s father and uncle are Ukrainian Catholic priests in Canada. The good deacon is teaching in Rome.

The Lviv Symphony Orchestra is currently touring in the U.S. On Monday, February 13th TOMORROW, at 7:30 p.m. this renowned orchestra will perform at the Jorgensen Center at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature violinist Solomia Ivakhiv. Artist of Ukraine, and Head of Strings in the music department at UCONN. On Friday, February 24, at 6:00 p.m. we will have a service of prayer (Moleben to the Mother of God and Panachyda) commemorating the Ukrainian War. Our Patriarch His Beatitude Sviatoslav declare February 24 Day of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. It is important we gather in prayer for those who have sacrificed their lives and those who experience the negative and disastrous effects of the War: physical, psychological and spiritual wounds, poverty, hunger, homelessness.

Free for children Ridna Shkola and altar boys. Luba Dubno, Margaret Maybury and Svitlana Nakonechnyj are selling tickets. We will be running a raffle. No tickets will be sale at the door.

Our New Haven Ridna Shkola is doing a Fundraiser called, KIDS HELPING UKRAINE. The stickers (two styles) are $1.00 per sticker and if you can contribute more it will be appreciated. All donations will go to provide medical supplies and care for those wounded in this terrible war started by Russia. St Michael’s Heritage Center Gift Shop is revitalized and restocked.
