Parish announcements

Christ is risen!

This week vigil light is offered by Christopher Komondy in memory of Helmut Heinrich.

Two children from our parish will receive First Holy Communion this year. Our school teacher Halia Lodynsky has worked tirelessly to prepare Kalynna Gildea and Justyna Samantha Young Horbaty for this event. The First Holy Communion will take place on Sunday June 6. There will be only one Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. All parishioners are invited to attend and celebrate this event with the children.

The Ukrainian School of New Haven informs that a nursery school program for children 2-5 years old will begin on Saturday May 15th at 10:00 am at St. Michael’s church hall in New Haven. Instruction will be primarily in Ukrainian language with accommodations for English. Connecticut Covid guidelines will be followed. For further information please call Myron Melnyk (203) 397-2087. Hope to see everyone on May 15th.

Following the Divine Liturgy the Knights of Columbus will host a special Luncheon. The menu main course will consist of marinated and grilled Pork Chops as well as beer on tap and/or special imported bottled beer. The luncheon fee will be $20.00 per person with children under 12 for free. There will be a small additional fee per for the beer. There are reservations forms included in this week bulletin. Tickets will be available at the rectory and from Andy Bamber the Knights of Columbus Financial Secretary. Please reserve your places early to allow the Knights to properly prepare for this event. Profits raised will be donated to the Parish Ladies Guild to help with their upcoming event.

We have for sale borsht $5.00 per container, cabbage and sausage $10 per container.

Dear parishioners and guests, after each Divine Liturgy, coffee and hard rolls are available in the church hall.

Dear Parishioners: Slowly, but surely we are seeing a lifting of restrictions on gatherings and wearing of Protective Items like Face Masks. The attendance in church is slowly increasing and I welcome you to consider attending Divine Liturgy. I wish to express a special thanks to all of you on behalf of the Parish for your continued support in the strange times that we are living in. Despite the restrictions placed on your attendance at Divine Liturgy and the various special Liturgical celebrations, your attendance via Facebook, your responses, your thoughts and prayers, your support for parishioners in need as well as the continued financial support that you have mailed in to the Parish is greatly appreciated. Together with the help of God we will survive this National crisis and come out of it stronger than ever spiritually and emotionally. May God bless you all. Fr. Iura Godenciuc

Every Sunday you can watch stream live on parish Facebook page at the 9:00 a.m. Divine Liturgy in English and at the 10:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy in Ukrainian.
