10. 2017 CHRISTMAS BAZAARS

The Ukrainian Heritage Center’s Christmas Bazaar will be held on Saturday, December 10, Sunday December 11, Saturday December 16 and Sunday December 17 in the church hall from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.. This offers you an excellent opportunity to purchase, at very reasonable prices, the Ukrainian gifts and cards (for Christmas and other special occasions) that you would like to give to family members, friends, co-workers or teachers of your children. We are also seeking volunteer sales associates that can help process the purchases that people make. If you can help during one of the times indicated earlier in this note, please call Carl R. Harvey at (203) 389-6076. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. You will be giving much needed support to sustain the operation of you Heritage Center.

The Ukrainian Women’s League of New Haven, Branch 108 will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar on Sunday, December 10, Saturday,  December16 and Sunday, December 17, after each Divine Liturgy, 10 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Baked goods and kutia will also be available. Donations of Ukrainian or holiday items would be greatly welcome. 11. Update on Humanitarian Efforts in Ukraine: U.S. Senator Blumenthal will be visiting the parish on December 10th at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will take place in the church hall. The main focus of his visit is to let our community know where things stand with the Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative and our Wounded Ukrainian Soldier Project.

12. PARISH BOOK SIGNING: Adrianna Bamber will be meeting us to introduce her new book, My Ukrainian American Story on Sunday at the Ukrainian Women’s League bazaar. Bamber attended our own Ridna Shkola. As the author/illustrator, Ms. Bamber will be signing and selling her books after each Divine Liturgy in our hall on Sunday, December 10th.

13. ROOF REPAIR FUND ROOF, CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLEDGES: Please consider the immediate as well as the long term repair capital improvement projects, roof and physical plant (i.e., parking lot) that has been planned, both now and for the future and make a generous contribution to allow us to protect our property. The church hall roof which is 34 years old has developed major leaks. We have conducted a temporary patch to the hall roof to give us time to build up a Roof Repair Fund in a restricted account. As well as repairing the various roofs that needed treatment, especially the sacristy roof which had serious problems. These roofs have been repaired and must be maintained to prevent further water damage to our property and we cannot pay for them from regular weekly collection. Roof Repair Fund as well as Capital Improvement Fund envelopes as well as the long term pledge forms are available in the vestibule of our church for your special sacrificial gift. Thank you for helping to keep our physical structures in good condition for our use today and for the next generation tomorrow.

14. BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS: The information in this bulletin is from you and for you. You comprise the bulletin. If you have items of note, please bring them to our attention so that we can let everyone know.

15. Kovbasa and Kapusta Dinners Available: The Knights of Columbus Council have made  (Kovbasa) baked and fried, with cabbage. The Kovbasa has been specially ordered from the Lasowiak. It is their “REGULAR” Kielbasa. The price for the Kovbasa meals are $12.00 each. The Price for Kapusta only is $7.00 for 2 pounds. Cash or check payable to the “KofC Council 16253.” Pickup after Divine Liturgy in the church hall.
