Art Show and Fundraiser
Dear Friends. Every day, Ukrainian soldiers risk their lives defending freedom. Many return from the front lines bearing deep wounds-both visible and invisible. At Zhytomyr Military Hospital, these brave men and women are receiving critical care for severe physical injuries, PTSD, and traumatic brain injuries. But healing takes more than medicine. Thanks to the leadership of Yuliya Tolmachova, a mother of an active-duty soldier and head of Veteran`s Home in Zhytomyr, these heroes are finding hope through a groundbreaking art therapy program. To support this life-changing work, our volunteers in the NHCT UAHA Fund a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based here in New Haven are hosting an Art Show Sale featuring original works created by these soldiers during therapy. Art Show and Fundraiser Saturday, October 25, 6-9 PM.
VIP Preview admission $100 hor d`oeuvres and open bar, Sunday, October 26th, 12-6PM art Show admission $20 hor d`oeuvres and cash bar. All proceeds will directly fund The art therapy program at Zhytomyr military Hospital, The purchase of critically needed medications and medical equipment. We humbly ask you to attend and make a donation to support this program. We welcome all donations!

This week vigil light is offered by Iuliana Godenciuc for God`s blessing of family.
Sestretsi will be having Corporate Communion on October 26, after 9:00 a.m.Divine Liturgy with a meeting to follow in the classroom.
St. Michael’s Day will be celebrated on November 2. On this day we will have only One Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m.. After the Divine Liturgy, we will have a dinner and short program. All parishioners are cordially invited to this celebration. Tickets are available through Miss Luba Dubno, Margaret Maybury and Svitlana Nakonechna. Tickets are $35.00 for adults, $20.00 for youth between 14 and 18. Free for students Ridna Shkola, altar boys and for children under 12. We will be running a raffle. If you would like to donate any items to be raffled, please bring them to our church hall on Sundays before our Feast Day. Also we ask donations for dessert. Last day to buy tickets October 28. We will not sale tickets at the door.

Oktoberfest 2025 TODAY –Join us!!!!
Children Paint War, Not Flowers
Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 8, from 3 – 5 PM, at Buley Library on campus of Southern CT State University, Dr. Ulia Gosart, will give a presentation about “CHILDREN PAINT WAR, NOT FLOWERS”. Ulia is the originator of this project to help children displaced by the war in Ukraine to cope with the trauma they are experiencing. Ulia is from Cherkasy Region of Ukraine and currently is a professor at iSchool at San Jose State University.
This exhibit will remain through October at the college library. You can also view the sidplay everyday during library hours: Sunday: 2 -10 PM; Monday-Thursday: 8 AM – 10 PM; Friday: 8 AM – 4:30 PM and Saturday: 12 noon to 5 PM. Library is located at 377 Fitch Street, New Haven. There is no admission charge.

The Holy Apostle Thomas
The story of the Holy Apostle Thomas shows us that the evangelists had a clear and intelligent idea of who Christ is – our Lord and God. They were not a primitive, ignorant, superstitious people, Thomas’ actions show that they accepted the truth of Jesus as Son of God only through a rigorous process of observation and reasoning. For us, it is through the testimony of these honest and trustworthy witnesses that we believe in Christ and constitute a “one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.” Hear their witness, Jesus tells us, for “Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed. (John 20:29)”
We believe because we hear the apostles, and, for us, the “doubting” Thomas becomes the strong support of our faith in Jesus, our Lord and God, risen from the dead.

OCTOBERFEST CELEBRATION: The Octoberfest event will occur this year on Sunday October 12, from noon to six pm in the church hall. Authentic German food and German beer will be served. German music will be played. The event is being sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Immaculate Conception Society. Profits will be allocated to our various programs that we support. Tickets are $ 25.00.
