All donations and contributions must be received by Sunday, December 30th to be recorded on the annual statement for the year 2018.

STAMFORD EPARCHY CHARITIES APPEAL

REMINDER: Please don’t forget to donate for the Charities Appeal. Please make your check payable to the BYZANTINE RITE DIOCESE OF STAMFORD.  DO NOT MAIL THE FORM TO THE CHANCERY OFFICE IN STAMFORD. We sincerely ask all parishioners to make generous contributions.

Parish Council meeting: will take place on Monday, December 3, at 6:00 p.m. in the Holy Name Room. Topics: Update on the Church parking lots, updates on handicap ramp for the church hall, physical plant improvement, a general update on the State of the Parish, review plans for calendar of events for the balance of the year. All members are invited.

SESTRECHI: the next regular monthly meeting will be held on Sunday, December 2, after the 9:00 a.m. Divine Liturgy. The meeting will be held in the church hall classroom. There will be an Akathist to the Mother of God will be prayed prior to the Liturgy.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: The Knights of Columbus Blessed Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky Council will hold its next regular meeting on Monday, December 3, after the Parish Council meeting. All men of the parish are invited to attend.

VIGIL LIGHT: This week vigil light is offered to God’s greater glory by Chris Komondy all deceased of Komondy family.

The Ukrainian Ridna Shkola has started classes. Instruction takes place each Saturday from 9:30-11:30. Religious instruction is from 11:30-12:30. Special thanks to Halia Lodynsky for her ongoing work with our children. For more information please contact her at 203-494-6278.

St. Michael’s Day will be celebrated on November 11. On this day we will have only one (1) Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. After the Divine Liturgy, we will have a dinner and short program. All parishioners are cordially invited to this celebration. Tickets are available through Miss Luba Dubno. Tickets are $25.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth between 14 and 18. Free for students Ridna Shkola, altar boys and for children under 12. We will be running a raffle. If you would like to donate any items to be raffled, please bring them to our church hall on Sundays before our Feast Day. Also we ask for donations for dessert.

Natalie Fedoriw-Cybriwsky Asleep in the Lord

On Wednesday morning, October 3, 2018, Natalie Fedoriw-Cybriwsky, fell asleep in the Lord. She was 96 years old.

The wake Tuesday, October 9, 2018, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Panachyda will be at 7 p.m.

Lesko and Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, CT.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at the parish on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 10 a.m.

Latin Mass on September 30 in New Haven

On Sunday, 30 September, the Missa Cantata will be offered at 2:00 p.m. It is the external feast St Michael the Archangel.

The music for the Mass will include the Gregorian chant proper for Michaelmas (“Benedicite Dominum omnes gentes”), the chant Mass IV ordinary (“Cunctipotens Genitor Deus”), and organ music by Eugène Gigout and Charles Tournemire.

FILM SCREENING: TODAY at 1:00 p.m., the Ukrainian American Veterans will be showing the documentary film “Recovery Room” in our Church Hall. The film tells the story of the impact of the current war in Ukraine and the response by Ukrainians around the world. Fliers with more information are located in the vestibule of our Church. Sloatsburg sisters to sell property

The religious congregation of Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate are looking to sell their 40 acre property was announced. (click on the highlighted words for the article.)

The Sisters are looking for $22 million for the estate to help them ease into the future with no financial worries and to underwrite their senior living ministry. With no vocations there is no need to have retain the estate.

A sad turn of events: the property would be ideal for a monastery of men to pray and work for all the Byzantine Churches in the North America.

 

John Chalupa’s funeral liturgy set

John Chalupa’s funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m. A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Church. Burial to follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.

A Mercy Meal will follow John’s burial back at the church hall.

The 40-day Liturgy will be served on October 14th, at 9:00 a.m. (confirmation pending).
