69th ANNUAL HOLY DORMITION PILGRIMAGE will be held on August 12-13 at the motherhouse of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate in Sloatsburg. This year`s theme is “Mary, Mother of God, watch over us and our beloved Nations with your noble protection!”. The Sisters invite all our parishioners to attend! They are the only active men’s group at the Parish and as you can see from last week’s Mother’s Day Luncheon which they Funded and Hosted, (as an example) they are a vibrant fun group of like-minded Catholic Gentlemen who have the best interests of the Parish at heart. Please feel free to contact Father Iura, Hank Lindgren, Myron Melnyk, Carl Harvey, Paul Zalonski or Andy Bamber with any questions that you may have. The Knights of Columbus is the Largest Men’s Catholic Organization in the world and it has great Insurance and Investment opportunities that are tailor made for the individual member, These special programs are only available to members.

KOLIBRI – TANTSI//UKRAINIAN FOLK DANCING for older children, 6 and up, Stephanie Tomaszewsky is the dance instructor and is in partnership with Artistic Director Orlando Pagan. Classes are held every Friday from 6:00 p.m. Any questions will be answered that night. On Sunday, June 4, after the 10:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy, our Ukrainian School of Dance, KOLIBRI, will have their first dance performance around 12:30 p.m. This will be the final class/performance for the season. Classes will resume in mid-September following a summer break. All are invited to see the performance. RIDNA SHKOLA/UKRAINIAN SCHOOL will have its end of the school year ceremony on Saturday, June 3rd. The Divine Liturgy will start at 10 a.m.  Afterwards in the church hall report cards will be given out and there will be a reception. Classes will resume late September. MOTHERS DAY LUNCHEON: Will take place on Sunday, May 14. There will be one (1) Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. The luncheon is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Parish Council as a tribute to the Mothers in the Parish without whom we would not be here. All are welcome.

TODAY, Sunday, May 7th the national president of Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Natalie Pawlenko, will be visiting the New Haven branch #108. We invite all women of Ukrainian descent to come and meet with her after the Divine Liturgy in the church hall. The UNWLA goals of Advocate, Educate, Cultivate, and Care will be discussed along with the new program for war widows in Ukraine. You do not have to be a member to attend. A light luncheon will be provided.

The Panakhyda Service at the Gravesites will take place today, Sunday, April 16, at 1:00 pm at St. Lawrence Cemetery. On Saturday we were at All Saints Cemetery. Please call the rectory office for appointment.

The traditional Easter parish “SVIACHENE” will be held on April 23, following the Divine Liturgy. We will celebrate only one (1) Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. We will be running a raffle. If you would like to donate any items to be raffled, please bring them to our church hall on Sundays before our “Sviachene” or on Sunday, April 23. Tickets are $30.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth from 12 to 18. Free for altar boys, and under 12. Also we ask you to donate cakes for desert. We trust that all parishioners will join this parish gathering and through their presence attest to cherishing in our hearts a love for one another which builds our PARISH FAMILY. We will not sell tickets at the door.

Panel discussion on Ukraine’s Reconstruction

There’s an upcoming panel on Ukraine’s Reconstruction, which is of high interest to the local Ukrainian community. The event will explore the challenges that Ukraine will encounter in its reconstruction and what role the US and EU should play.

The event will feature a discussion moderated by the Jackson School’s Marnix Amand with Ambassador John Herbst, the former US Ambassador to Ukraine, and Vladyslav Rashkovan, an IMF Board Member and the former Deputy Governor of Ukraine’s Central Bank. The event will take place at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 17th in Horchow Hall (55 Hillhouse Ave). More information about the event and speakers is available here, and a flyer is attached.

The 18th annual Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the UNA Branch 414-New Haven, will be held on Sunday, April 2, at 12:00 noon, on church grounds. It is open to young members of UNA, Ridna Shkola students and Ukrainian Youth of New Haven area. Participants are reminded to bring a basket for collecting eggs. St. Michael’s Ukrainian Easter Bazaar will be on Sunday, April 2nd from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. You can buy Easter baskets, Ukrainian jewelry, candles, souvenirs, Easter cards, embroidery clothes, pastries, homemade food, Egg decorating supplies, etc. For more information call Oksana 347-523-1226.
