Ukrainian Independence Day this year is on Sunday, August 24.

To show their support the mayors of New Haven and West Haven will be issuing proclamations. Mayor Dorinda Borer will issue a proclamation in front of West Haven City Hall on Friday, August 22 at noon (12pm) and Mayor Justin Elicker will issue a proclamation on August 25 at 1:30 (1:45) pm on the New Haven Green near the flag pole. In case of rain the ceremony will take place in the City Hall. We ask as many of you to attend to show solidarity with Ukraine. This show of support is more important than ever.

Please invite as many people as you can; Ukrainians and non-Ukrainians. Bring flags, wear Ukrainian shirts, let’s show them we stand together!
