THE ST. MICHAEL’S KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS PARISH COUNCIL in conjunction with the Ukrainian American Veterans Post 33 based at the Parish is seeking your support for the war effort in Ukraine. We are collecting medical equipment and supplies for the Lviv Regional Hospital for soldiers and war veterans in Vynnykiy (Lviv Region) to be used for the treatment of soldiers and civilians injured during war in Ukraine. As well as humanitarian supplies that are distributed to Orphanages and Regional Refugee centers known to us. We have the good fortune to have a “Man on the ground” in the Ukraine. A Father Roman who is married to the Daughter of one of our Parishioners. He coordinates, supervises and arranges all the pickups and distribution as needed. As a result everything we send gets to where it is going. We also need funds to purchase specialized medical supplies, boxes packaging materials, cover transportation expenses, etc. We are working with the UUARC (United Ukrainian American Relief Committee based in Philadelphia-UUARC.org) among other organizations, to transport all donated items to Warsaw for transport by truck to the hospital in Vinniki as well as the Regional Centers. All donated items can be dropped off at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall at 569 George St. New Haven. The collection center will be open on Sunday from 11:30 to 1:00 PM. For the month of August. We are also looking for donations of vehicles to be converted into ambulances and general purpose transport in the Ukraine. Please email us at stmichaelchurchgc@gmail.com for details.
