Christ is among us!

This week vigil light is offered to God by the Kolesnik and Buciak families for a Special Intention

From October 10 to October 14 the rectory office will be closed. Father Iura will be away for Clergy Days.

If you would like to have Confession, Holy Communion and prayer of the sick at your house or nursing home, please call the rectory at 203-865-0388.

We will be making pyrohy (pierogi, varenyky) for regular orders on October 15. We need your help on Friday to peel potatoes and Saturday to make pierogis. Please come and help.

FOOD DONATIONS for those in need: A container is in our church vestibule for non-perishable food. This collection will be taken twice per month. Father Iura will distribute the food to the Little Sisters of the Poor who have offered to help in the Ukrainian crisis. Thank you for your generosity and your support.

PYROHY available for sale. There will be pyrohy (pieroigi-varenyky) for sale in the church hall as long as supplies last. $16.00 FOR 2 dozen.

Eparchy of Stamford’s CHARITIES APPEAL: Please don’t forget to make a donation to the Eparchy’s Charity Appeal. Please make check payable to the Byzantine Rite Eparchy of Stamford. DO NOT MAIL THIS FORM OR CHECK TO THE CHANCERY OFFICE BUT TURN IT IN AT THE PARISH. We sincerely ask all parishioners to make a generous contribution.

St. Michael’s Day will be celebrated on November 6th. On this day we will have only one (1) bi-lingual Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. After the Divine Liturgy, we will have a dinner and short cultural program. All parishioners are cordially invited to this celebration. Tickets are available through Miss Luba Dubno and Svitlana Nakonecha. Tickets are $30.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth between 14and 18. Free for students Ridna Shkola, altar boys and for children under 12 . We will be running a raffle. If you would like to donate any items to be raffled, please bring them to our church hall on Sundays before our Feast Day. Also we ask donations for dessert. We will not sell tickets at the door.

On Sept. 24th we had an Open House for Ukrainian School/Nursery School, 569 George St., New Haven. A Divine Liturgy was celebrated at 10:00 for our Children. Refreshments and meeting with parents and teachers were in the church hall. Classes started immediately thereafter. Children aged 8-12 accepted to the School. The nursery school has 3 groups as follows: ages 2-3 years of age – the youngest group; ages 3-5 years of age –the middle group; ages 5-6 years of age –preschool/ oldest group.

KIDS HELPING UKRAINE STICKERS: Our New Haven Ridna Shkola is doing a Fundraiser called, KIDS HELPING UKRAINE. The stickers (two styles) are $1:00 per sticker and if you can contribute more it will be appreciated. All donations will go to provide medical supplies and care for those wounded in this terrible war started by Russia. ST. MICHAEL’S HERITAGE CENTER GIFT SHOP is open for business. We are in the process of revitalizing and restocking our Gift shop as part of our overall effort to generate needed funds. Any Parishioner who has surplus Ukrainian items in their possession that they would like to donate or place on consignment with the shop, please drop them off at the Gift Shop which is open and accessible during Suma Credit Union hours.
